The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for one more confirmed case of COVID-19, according to a Thursday news release from the health department. Madison County have 177 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
The most recent case is a 48-year-old female, who is not hospitalized. Epidemiology staff are reaching out to people who had close contact with this individual.
The Madison County case count is lower today due to a reporting error with two lab results. The department reported two 13-year-old males, who were household contacts, as positive on Monday. They were actually negative.
Two Madison County residents are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, with one of those patients on a ventilator.
The releases said 162 Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and eight people say they are feeling better.
