The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received test results for 177 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County, according to a Kim Tedford, director of the health department and a news release from the department.
Eight of the nine newest cases resulted from a mass testing at American Health Communities (AHC) West Tennessee Transitional Care, Tedford said. Those cases include:
- a 66-year-old male (not hospitalized)
- a74-year-old male (not hospitalized)
- a 70-year-old male (not hospitalized)
- an 83-year-old female (not hospitalized)
- a 72-year-old male (not hospitalized)
- a 93-year-old male (not hospitalized)
- a 40-year-old female (not hospitalized)
- a 73-year-old male (not hospitalized)
The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to people who had close contact with these cases.
Two Madison County residents are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, with one of those patients on a ventilator.
Tedford said 163 Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and three people say they are feeling better.
