Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department reported two new cases of the novel coronavirus in Madison County Saturday afternoon, bringing the total of confirmed cases in the county to 69.
The newest patients include:
- a 32-year-old female (hospitalization unknown)
- a 53-year-old female (hospitalization unknown)
The release said the department’s epidemiology staff is still trying to make contact with the patients, so hospitalization status is not known at this time. The department is also reaching out to the people who had contact with these patients.
The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases:
RACE:
Black or African-American: 35 cases, 51 percent
White: 13 cases, 19 percent
Asian: 2 cases, 3 percent
Hispanic: 1 case, 1 percent
Unspecified: 18 cases, 26 percent
GENDER:
Female: 37 cases, 54 percent
Male: 32 cases, 46 percent
HEALTH STATUS:
Recovered: 22 cases, 32 percent
Not Recovered: 20 cases, 29 percent
Better: 15 cases, 22 percent
Unknown: 12 cases, 17 percent
AGE:
0-10: no cases
11-20: 1 case, 1 percent
21-30: 11 cases, 16 percent
31-40: 6 cases, 9 percent
41-50: 13 cases, 19 percent
51-60: 22 cases, 32 percent
61-70: 12 cases, 17 percent
71-80: 4 cases, 6 percent
80+: no cases
