Camden City Hall will be closed to walk-in traffic beginning Thursday, March 19, according to a news release from John Beasley, superintendent of the city’s Water Department. Other protective measures and protocols will also be implemented.

City offices will continue to serve customers during regular business hours.

The release said Camden Mayor Roger Palford and his staff have been monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic, its effects on the Camden community and that he has been in contact with state health officials.

To protect city employees and citizens, Palford implemented the closure of walk-in traffic at city hall and the following other protective measures and protocols:

  1. Water bills and city property taxes can still be paid through the drive-in window during normal business hours or the night drop box after normal business hours.
  2. Water bills can also be paid online via our website, www.cityofcamdentn.com.
  3. Customers can also set up an automatic bank draft as a convenient option to pay water bills
  4. All water service disconnects have been temporarily suspended until further notice.
  5. We are still available by phone to answer any questions or service requests at 731.584-4656.

The release said the Water Department “remains dedicated and will continue to operate to provide vital water and sewer services for our customers throughout this event, and we will continue to closely monitor the situation and modify any protocols accordingly. We encourage our customers to monitor this event at CDC.GOV or TN.GOV for the most up to date information.”
