Students in the Jackson-Madison County School System will return to school on August 7th - Monday, August 7th. Many of our community partners have family-friendly events to provide additional support and supplies for our students.
City of Jackson Councilman Johnny Dodd joins us this week to discuss the ICARE of Jackson - 3rd annual Better Community Summit! They’ll have a school supply giveaway and door prizes while educating the community on topics like how to have a successful school year.
Also, we'll hear from a number of JMCSS teachers as they’ve spent the last week preparing for the return of our nearly 13,000 students.
This week, we visit with Dr. Ken Newman, School Board Member of Jackson-Madison County Schools and a longtime educator in this district and educational leadership professor at Union University.
This week we visit with our district’s Department of Innovation. We’ll share details of major investments Toyota Tennessee continues to provide JMCSS. We’ll also hear from a student representative of our Greenpower Electric Car racing team - as this program and others increases learning opportunities in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics for our Middle and High School students.
