NWS: Portions of Mid-South Under Excessive Heat Warning, Rest of Area Under Heat Advisory

The National Weather Service in Memphis said Tuesday portions of the Mid-South have been upgraded to an Excessive Heat Warning for Tuesday, with the remainder of the area under a Heat Advisory. There is a Marginal Risk for severe weather continues for tomorrow (Wednesday, June 26, 2024).
Today, Tuesday 6/25:
  • An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM for the Arkansas and Mississippi Delta as well as Memphis Metro.
  • A Heat Advisory is in effect for the rest of the Mid-South from 11 AM to 8 PM.
  • Heat index values will be above 110 degrees in the Excessive Heat Warning area and between 105 to 110 degrees in the Heat Advisory area.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 6/26:
  • There is a Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms. Damaging winds and hail up to quarter size are the main threats.
