BROWNSVILLE — Main Street Brownsville and BlueOval Ford invites you to attend the unveiling of three new bike racks in downtown Brownsville. The unveiling will take place at Tamm Park, 10 South Washington Ave., Friday, June 7, at 12 noon. The event is in conjunction with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development’s (TDTD) introduction of Bike Tennessee, a new initiative launched May 23, that encourages cyclists to explore the state’s stunning landscapes through 52 newly-curated road cycling routes. Among the new routes is the West Tennessee Classic Loop that offers an authentic cycling experience through 37 miles of rural roads and rich Haywood County farmland.

“We are thrilled to provide these new bike racks for Brownsville and support the Bike TN Road cycling initiative,” said Marianne Dunavant, BlueOval Ford Community Relations Manager. “We are proud to play a role in encouraging cyclists of all levels to come to Haywood County and enjoy the trails and beautiful countryside that makes this area so special.”

The new racks will offer cyclists an opportunity to secure their bikes while exploring downtown Brownsville to shop, dine or for photo opportunities with local murals.

“Main Street Brownsville is proud to partner with Ford and BikeTN to give cyclists the opportunity to visit and explore Brownsville/Haywood County,” says Main Street Director Tom Orr.  “Health and wellness are cornerstones to vibrant and thriving communities. Main Street thanks Ford for investing in Brownsville/Haywood County.”

The Bike Tennessee routes are now available on BikeTN.com and can be accessed using the Ride with GPS app, making Tennessee a Ride with GPS Ambassador. The West Tennessee Classic Loop route begins in downtown Brownsville.

“We are excited to launch Bike Tennessee and invite cyclists from around the world to experience the beauty and charm of Haywood County as well as our entire state,” said TDTD Commissioner Mark Ezell. “This initiative demonstrates Tennessee’s commitment to promoting tourism and economic growth while showcasing our unique natural attractions.”

Each route was carefully mapped to provide cyclists with detailed navigation and route information, including terrain descriptions, waypoints, and hidden gems along the way. The routes were developed in collaboration with professional cycling guide Shannon Burke of Velo View Bike Tours, ensuring safety and scenic experiences for cyclists. The program aims to boost visitation and economic impact throughout Tennessee, capitalizing on the growing cycling community.
