The National Weather Service in Memphis announced Wednesday morning that a Wind Advisory would go into effect at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023. The advisory is scheduled to end at 12 p.m. Thursday.
The advisory will be in effect for portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri and West Tennessee.
The following counties in West Tennessee will be in the advisory: Benton, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Obion, Shelby, Tipton and Weakley.
Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Precautionary/preparedness actions: Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
