The National Weather Service in Memphis has extended the Ice Storm Warning it issued Monday, with the warning set to expire at 6 a.m. Thursday.
Those counties included in the warning are Weakley, Henry, Dyer, Gibson, Carroll, Benton, Lauderdale, Tipton, Haywood, Crockett, Madison, Chester, Henderson, Decatur, Shelby, Hardin, McNairy, Fayette, and Hardeman.
According to NWS, significant icing is expected, with ice accumulations of around one-tenth of an inch.
Plan on slippery road conditions and those hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening commute.
Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.
