The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Wind Chill Advisory, which will remain in effect now until 6 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2022.
Very cold wind chills are expected, with wind chills as low as 15 below zero.
This advisory is in effect for portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri, and West Tennessee.
The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
Precautionary/preparedness actions: Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
