The National Weather Service in Memphis said Tuesday morning that a wind advisory will go into effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central Time Wednesday. This advisory is for portions of north Mississippi, West Tennessee, East Arkansas and Southeast Missouri.

NWS said south winds are expected to be between 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

NWS said motorists should use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Be prepared for power outages as these gradient winds could take down trees or power lines! Secure loose lawn ornaments, patio furniture, and trash cans now.
