Children’s Programs at the Library March 2022

The Jackson-Madison County Library is hosting a variety of programs for children this month.

Tuesdays at 10:30 AM is Toddler Story Time – Join Ms. Jennifer for an hour of stories, songs and play geared toward babies, toddlers, but all kids are welcome.

Wednesdays 10:30 AM Story Time at the Casey Jones Train Museum – Listen to a story based on the Bicentennial monthly theme and join us for snacks, crafts, and playing with trains after.

Thursdays at 10:30 AM Family Book Club – Homeschooling families of all ages read the book at home, then meet to discuss the book and play games, get creative, and make new friends. This month’s book is Wild Robot by Peter Brown. Registration required, email jmclkids@gmail.com to sign up.

Thursdays at 3:00 PM Theme-Maker Thursdays – Bring the kids for a story followed by Lego and craft themed challenges.  All ages welcome! March 3- World Wildlife Day; March 10- Mario Day; March 17- St. Patrick’s Day; March 24- National Nutrition Month; March 31- National Crayon Day.

Fridays at 10:30 AM “Big Kid” Story Time – Geared toward kiddos aged 2-7, but all are welcome. Every other week, after a story we’ll move to the Program Center for the Young Athlete’s Program to introduce sport skills. Find out more about the program here: https://www.specialolympics.org/…/inclus…/young-athletes. Ms. Whitney, the Recreation Coordinator with the City of Jackson will lead that part. On the alternate weeks, we will be in the Program Center after the story for games.

March 12 at Pugh Bourne Park – 10:00-11:30 AM I Love Goo! Bring your kids out for story time, healthy races and games and to make their own lucky slime.  Kids have to register for this activity over the phone by calling Madison County Parks Admin. Office at 731-988-3850
