The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, which will remain in effect from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, January 6.
NWS said mixed precipitation is expected. The total snow and sleet accumulations could be up to two inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.
This advisory is for portions of West Tennessee North Mississippi, East Arkansas and southeast Missouri.
NWS said travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact Thursday morning or evening commute. Power outages may be expected due to ice accumulations.
Precautionary/preparedness actions include slowing down and using caution while traveling.
