Health Department Confirms Nine Additional COVID-19 Deaths, Over 170 News Cases in Madison County Since Tuesday

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms nine additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 285 in Madison County, according to a Friday morning news release from the department. The newest deaths include:

  • 72-year-old male (died 9/17/2021)
  • 49-year-old male (died 9/17/2021)
  • 88-year-old male (died 9/17/2021)
  • 76-year-old female (died 9/18/2021)
  • 50-year-old male (died 9/18/2021)
  • 68-year-old male (died 9/21/2021)
  • 41-year-old male (died 9/21/21)
  • 59-year-old female (died 9/21/2021)
  • 39-year-old male (died 9/23/2021)

The health department has received positive test results for 174 more cases of COVID-19 since Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021. There is now a cumulative total of 17,489 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
