The 2021 Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo will be held in Jackson, Tennessee on the west side of the campus of Jackson State Community College Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18. Linemen from all over the state of Tennessee will compete in the rodeo while friends and family attend to support.

The two-day event is a showcase for line workers across the Tennessee Valley to show off their talents and skills of their every day job in a competitive environment. The family-friendly rodeo event, which includes competitive events for apprentices, journeyman teams of three, individual linemen and senior individuals (45 and up), recognizes and rewards excellence in safety, skill and knowledge in their field. Awards will be presented via a Facebook Live virtual awards ceremony on the Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo Facebook page.

The event begins Friday, Sept. 17th with opening ceremonies at 1:30 p.m. and the individual/senior events at 2 p.m. The Rodeo continues Saturday with an invocation at 7 a.m. and the apprentice/team events following.

Attendance to the event is free to the public and residents are encouraged to attend to see some of the best lineworkers in the Tennessee Valley. Entrance to the event will be located off of North Parkway and signage will direct attendees through the grounds. As a safety precaution, Covid protocols will be in place.

The Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo started in 1998 by and for the employees of Tennessee Valley Authority power distributors. The event cultivates pride in the trade and a kinship among participants and attendees alike. For more information, visit www.tnrodeo.com.
