The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 58-year-old female died Sept. 11, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 269 in Madison County.

The health department has received positive test results for 386 more cases of COVID-19 since Friday, Sept. 10, 2021. There is now a cumulative total of 16,808 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

Citizens will notice a decrease in the number of new cases reported because the Tennessee Department of Health’s electronic lab reporting portal shut down Sunday for maintenance.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

The department released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
