Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, Over 500 New Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County Since Friday

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 85-year-old female died Tuesday, Aug. 10 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Tuesday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 244 in Madison County.

The health department has received positive test results for 513 more cases of COVID-19 since Friday, Aug. 13, 2021. There are now 13,479 cumulative confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
