Scattered storms and humid conditions will persist Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis. Expect highs in the lower 90s and heat index values in excess of 100 degrees.
NWS said a front will move into the Mid-South late in the weekend and bring clouds and storms to the region, a few of which could be strong. This front may stall across the region through next week, leading to cooler temperatures and increased chances for showers and storms each day.
