Jackson Police Chief Julian Wiser has implemented sixty days of Blue Impact, according to a Monday morning news release from the Jackson Police Department. Blue Impact is a successful community-policing strategy utilized by the Jackson Police Department to address specific community issues such as gang and gun crimes. Blue Impact has proven successful because it utilizes intelligence driven policing, community oriented policing, and focused policing which directs attention on individuals and groups involved in criminal activity.
The Jackson Police Department in co-active partnerships with other law enforcement partners will join resources to focus on gun crime, violent crime, and criminal gang crime. In conjunction with enforcement, JPD will continue to focus on building strong community relationships through community policing and ongoing community partnerships.
“Community support of police is critical to combating crime,” stated Wiser. “Providing a safe community and society requires a joint effort and operation between police and community.”
