Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, 11,469 Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 92-year-old female died May 22 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Tuesday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 234 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for four new cases of COVID-19. There is now a cumulative total of 11,469 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest cases range from ages 16 to 43.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Four Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
