Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, Cumulative Total of 10,976 Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 61-year-old male died Mar. 10 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Friday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 198 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for seven more cases of COVID-19. There is now a cumulative total of 10,976 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 21 to 70.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Four Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Two of those patients are on ventilators.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
