Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, Cumulative Total of 10,949 Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 72-year-old male died Mar. 7 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Monday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 196 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for three more cases of COVID-19. There is now a cumulative total of 10,949 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 24 to 58.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Three Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
