Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, 10,840 Cumulative Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 77-year-old female died Feb. 19 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Tuesday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 184 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 14 more cases of COVID-19. There is now a cumulative total of 10,840 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 20 to 71.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Eight Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. None of those patients are on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
