Ice Storm Warning Remains In Effect Through Thursday Afternoon for Northwest Tenn.

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued an Ice Storm Warning which will remain in effect through Thursday morning.

This watch includes portions of Northwest Tennessee, East Arkansas and Southeast Missouri. Cities includes in this warning include: Piggott, Corning, Paragould, Jonesboro, Harrisburg, Blytheville, Wynne, West Memphis, Forrest City, Kennett, Caruthersville, Tiptonville, Union City, Martin, Dresden, Paris, Dyersburg, Humboldt, Milan, Ripley, and Alamo.

Significant amounts of icing is likely and so are ice accumulations around one quarter of an inch.

NWS warns that power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.
