Health Department Confirms Two Additional COVID-19 Deaths, 10,679 Cumulative Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 80-year-old female died Jan. 29 and an 89-year-old female died Jan. 30 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Monday morning news release. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 172 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 18 more cases of COVID-19. There are now 10,679 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 6 to 71.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Six Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
