Health Dept. Confirms Two Additional COVID-19 Deaths, 10,567 Cumulative Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 63-year-old female died Dec. 30, 2020, and a 62-year-old female died Feb. 3, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Wednesday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 167 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 17 more cases of COVID-19. There are now 10,567 cumulative confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 12 to 73.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Eight Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
