
The Tennessee Department of Health reported 143 new COVID-19 deaths in Tennessee and over 3,950 new COVID-19 cases, according to Monday’s data from the department.
As of 2 p.m. Monday, there are 612,250 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 3,953 additional cases since Sunday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 143 additional deaths to 7,168.
There have been 530,494 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 3,213 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an increase of 40 hospitalizations.
A total of 5,673,239 tests have been taken, which is 14,598 more since Sunday’s report.
