There are over 5,690 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Tuesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, there are 380,186 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 5,693 additional cases since Monday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 36 additional deaths to 4,638.
There have been 336,131 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 2,369 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an increase of 40 hospitalizations.
A total of 4,551,590 tests have been taken, which is 35,935 more since Monday’s report.
