TN Dept. Of Health Reports Over 7,950 New Cases Of COVID-19 and Over 3,920 Deaths

There are over 7,950 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Monday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2:53 p.m. Monday, there are 318,888 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 3,923 additional cases since Sunday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 30 additional deaths to 3,923.

There have been 271,864 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 1,773 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an increase of 23 hospitalizations.

A total of 4,139,612 tests have been taken, which is 60,862 more since Sunday’s report.
