TN Dept. Of Health Reports Over 3,630 New Cases Of COVID-19 and Over 3,760 Deaths

There are over 3,630 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Wednesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, there are 293,381 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 3,632 additional cases since Tuesday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 89 additional deaths to 3,761.

There have been 259,438 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 1,713 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an increase of 79 hospitalizations.

A total of 3,955,150 tests have been taken, which is 29,690 more since Tuesday’s report.
