There are over 1,370 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 273,144 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,373 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 32 additional deaths to 3,509.
There have been 246,392 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 1,480 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an decrease of 22 hospitalizations.
A total of 3,775,108 tests have been taken, which is 11,027 more since Thursday’s report.
