TN Dept. Of Health Reports Over 2,445 New Cases Of COVID-19 and Over 3,240 Deaths

There are over 2,445 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Wednesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, there are 254,220 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 2,446 additional cases since Tuesday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 34 additional deaths to 3,241.

There have been 224,822 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 1,254 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an decrease of 96 hospitalizations.

A total of 3,594,591 tests have been taken, which is 22,00 more since Tuesday’s report.
