TN Dept. Of Health Reports Over 2,275 New Cases Of COVID-19 and Over 3,160 Deaths

There are over 2,275 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Monday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 249,866 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 2,279 additional cases since Sunday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 32 additional deaths to 3,163.

There have been 219,230 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 1,098  people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an decrease of 20 hospitalizations.

A total of 3,556,087 tests have been taken, which is 22,618 more since Sunday’s report.
