TN Dept. Of Health Reports COVID-19 Deaths Have Surpassed 3,000 Deaths and Over 2,045 New Cases Of COVID-19

There are over 2,045 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee as the state surpasses 3,000 COVID-19 deaths, according to Wednesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, there are 237,907 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 2,046 additional cases since Wednesday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 41 additional deaths to 3,011.

There have been 212,555 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 1,300 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an increase of 32 hospitalizations.

A total of  3,424,085 tests have been taken, which is 19,824 more since Wednesday’s report.
