Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, 3,420 Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 55-year-old male died Oct. 1 due to complications from COVID-19, according to Director Kim Tedford. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 72 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 45 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 3,420 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 15 males, 21 females, 9 unknowns and range from ages 10 to 79.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Four Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
