There are over 1,145 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Tuesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, there are 218,829confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,147 additional cases since Monday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 23 additional deaths to 2,797.
There have been 196,940 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 1,068 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 3,215,401 tests have been taken, which is 13,694 more since Tuesday’s report.
