There are over 1,555 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 2011,003 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,556 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 27 additional deaths to 2,732.
There have been 191,651 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 1,023 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 3,107,299 tests have been taken, which is 26,790 more since Thursday’s report.
