TN Dept. Of Health Reports Over 1,990 New Cases Of COVID-19 and Over 2,700 Deaths

There are over 1,990 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Thursday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Thursday, there are 209,447 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,992 additional cases since Wednesday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 63 additional deaths to 2,705.

There have been 189,990 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of  973 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.

A total of  3,080,509 tests have been taken, which is 27,016 more since Wednesday’s report.
