
There are over 1,990 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Saturday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Saturday, there are 199,595 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,192 additional cases since Friday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 45 additional deaths to 2,560.
There have been 183,533 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 855 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,928,809 tests have been taken, which is 17,810 more since Friday’s report.
