TN Dept. Of Health Reports Over 970 New Cases Of COVID-19 and Over 2,510 Deaths

There are over 970 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 1978,403 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 971 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 14 additional deaths to 2,515.

There have been 182,166 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 842 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.

A total of 2,910,999  tests have been taken, which is 16,124 more since Friday’s report.
