
There are over 830 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Thursday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Thursday, there are 187,544 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 835 additional cases since Wednesday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 35 additional deaths to 2,275.
There have been 171,153 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 708 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,722,637 tests have been taken, which is 15,920 more since Wednesday’s report.
