Health Department Confirms Four Additional COVID-19 Deaths, 36 New Cases, 2,964 Cumulative Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms four additional COVID-19 related deaths, according to a Thursday morning news release. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 62 in Madison County.

The most recent deaths include:

  • 85-year-old male (died 9/20/2020)
  • 63-year-old female (died 9/22/2020)
  • 91-year-old female (died 9/9/2020)
  • 70-year-old female (died 9/11/2020)

The health department received positive test results for 36 more cases of COVID-19. Twenty-four of the new cases all come from the same residential facility. We now have 2,964 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 15 males, 21 females, and range from ages 4 months to 70.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Ten Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. None of those patients are on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
