
There are over 1,560 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Wednesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, there are 186,709 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 895 additional cases since Tuesday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 14 additional deaths to 2,275.
There have been 169,649 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 779 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,706,717 tests have been taken, which is 21,702 more since Tuesday’s report.
