The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for 20 more cases of COVID-19, according to Director Kim Tedford. There are now 2,908 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 5 males, 15 females, and range from ages 7 to 77.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twelve Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

Tedford said the county-wide mask mandate will end Saturday evening, but said each business should decide whether they will continue to require masks or not in their businesses.

The health department, city and county buildings, West Tennessee Healthcare and the Jackson-Madison County School System are continuing to require masks.
