
There are over 1,760 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Saturday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Saturday, there are 162,362 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,765 additional cases since Friday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 25 additional deaths to 1,862.
There have been 144,383 recoveries. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 846 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,306,032 tests have been taken, which is 26,997 more since Friday’s report.
