Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, 2,045 Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 51-year-old male died Aug. 23 due to complications from COVID-19, according to Director Kim Tedford. There are now 35 COVID-19 related deaths in Madison County

The health department received positive test results for 16 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 2,045 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 13 males, 3 females, and range from ages 4 months to 79.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twenty-one Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Two of those patients are on a ventilator.
