There are over 1,960 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Sunday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Sunday, there are 133,708 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,961 additional cases since Saturday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 21 additional deaths to 1,366.
There have been 92,655 recoveries, 55 more since Saturday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 5,847 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 1,855,015 tests have been taken, which is 27,495 more since Saturday’s report.
