There are over 1,945 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 130,458 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,947 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 13 additional deaths to 1,326.
There have been 91,323 recoveries, 2,172 more since Thursday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 5,725 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 1,809,900 tests have been taken, which is 24,254 more since Thursday’s report.
