The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for 75 more cases of COVID-19, according to Director Kim Tedford. There are now 1,704 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

“It’s pretty alarming,” Tedford said.

The newest confirmed cases include 32 males, 43 females, and range from ages 1 to 79.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twenty-two Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

Amy Garner, West Tennessee Healthcare Chief Compliance & Communications Officer, said there are 104 COVID-19 patients at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, with 33 in ICU and 23 on ventilators. The hospital had it’s highest number of cases Wednesday with 109.
