Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, 349 Active Cases and 1,345 Cumulative Confirmed Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 44-year-old female died Aug. 6 due to complications from COVID-19, according to Director Kim Tedford. This brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 22 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 35 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 1,345 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 14 males, 21 females, and range from ages 16 to 91.

The department’s  epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Fourteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

There are 903 Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and 54 people say they are feeling better.
